Mount Tangkuban Perahu lies 30 kilometers north part of Bandung. With the height of 2.084 meters above the sea and it is one of attractive tourist destination in West Java. It is nature place with cool weather, hot springs, row of the elongated crater as the main part of Tangkuban Perahu. The mountain is called Tangkuban Perahu because of its shape like an upside-down boat.
The name of Tangkuban Perahu is very closely related to the famous legend of Sundanese history, namely Sangkuriang. The mountain looks like a boat upside-down, it is because Sangkuriang failed to finish the job to make a boat overnight to marry Dayang Sumbi and she is none other than her own mother.
